Acceptable Use Policy

Last Updated: May 26, 2026 · Version 2026-05-26

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is incorporated by reference into the Gid AI Terms of Service. It explains what you must not do with the Service. We keep this list short and operational, not exhaustive. If a behavior is not on the list but is illegal, harmful, or abusive, do not assume it is permitted — ask us at legal@gidai.ca first.

Violation of this AUP is a material breach of the Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your access (Section 14.3 of the Terms).

1. Lawful and authorized use

You may use the Service only for lawful business purposes in the hospitality industry and adjacent operations. You must comply with all laws applicable to your use, including employment law, wage-and-hour law, data-protection law, food-safety law, and consumer-protection law in every jurisdiction where you operate. The Service is a tool, not a substitute for legal advice; if a configuration choice could have legal consequences, validate it with qualified counsel before relying on it.

2. Prohibited content

You must not submit to the Service, generate with the Service, or transmit through the Service any content that:

  • Is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, libelous, threatening, harassing, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable;
  • Sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers minors in any way; depicts minors in a sexual or violent context; or constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Such content will be reported to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), or the equivalent authority in your jurisdiction, in addition to immediate account termination;
  • Promotes terrorism, mass violence, or self-harm;
  • Incites discrimination, harassment, or violence against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability;
  • Infringes any third party's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or contractual right;
  • Contains malware, ransomware, viruses, or other code designed to disrupt or damage systems;
  • Contains anyone's personal data (such as government-issued identifiers, payment card data, health data, or precise location) that you do not have a clear, lawful basis to process for the purpose at hand.

3. Prohibited use

You must not, and you must not allow your Authorized Users or any third party to:

  • Use the Service to investigate, surveil, or build a profile of any individual without a clear lawful basis (such as informed consent or a specific legal obligation);
  • Use the Service for any purpose that is illegal in the user's jurisdiction or that violates the rights of any individual;
  • Send unsolicited bulk communications (spam) through the Service's messaging features, or use the Service to scrape, harvest, or build a mailing list of individuals;
  • Misrepresent your identity, your role, or your relationship with Gid;
  • Bypass or circumvent any access control, rate limit, security measure, or technical limitation of the Service;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or model weights from the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • Use the Service to build, train, or improve a competing product, including using AI outputs as training data for a competing AI model;
  • Use automated tools (bots, crawlers, scrapers) to access the Service without our prior written authorization, other than well-known, well-behaved search-engine indexing of public marketing pages;
  • Resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise commercially redistribute access to the Service without our written authorization;
  • Use the Service in any way that would impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or degrade the Service for other Customers.

4. AI-specific limits

In addition to the rules above, you must not use Gid's AI features to:

  • Generate content intended to deceive or defraud a person about who or what they are interacting with (without clear disclosure where required by law);
  • Generate content that impersonates a real person without their consent;
  • Bypass our content filters or safety controls, including by using prompt-injection techniques against the Service or against other users via shared content;
  • Generate, or attempt to generate, content that the AI provider's policies prohibit (such as instructions to commit violence, build weapons, or harm individuals);
  • Use AI outputs as the sole basis for a decision with significant legal or financial effect (such as termination of employment, denial of benefits, or wage deductions). A human qualified to make the decision must review the AI output first (Section 5.3 of the Terms).

5. Security and integrity

You must not:

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related infrastructure, except under a written authorization from us (such as a coordinated security test);
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, network, or data;
  • Use the Service to launch or facilitate attacks against any other system or network;
  • Interfere with any user, host, or network of the Service, including by sending viruses, overloading, flooding, spamming, or denial-of-service attacks;
  • Forge any TCP/IP packet header or any part of the header information in any email or posting.

If you discover a security vulnerability in the Service, please report it to security@gidai.ca. We acknowledge reports within five business days, work with you in good faith, and credit researchers who report responsibly.

6. User-generated content & reporting

The Service includes communication features (in-app messaging, channels, voice) as well as AI-generated outputs (coaching messages, voice-agent transcripts, training capsules, scheduling and analytics suggestions). Authorized Users are responsible for the human content they post; Gid is responsible for moderating reports on AI-generated outputs that violate this AUP. We provide a unified reporting mechanism:

  • In-app, human content: Long-press a message (mobile) or open the menu next to a message (web) and select "Report". Reports route to the abuse triage queue.
  • In-app, AI-generated content: Long-press any AI-generated message (coaching reply, voice transcript, training capsule, schedule suggestion) and select "Report". Reports route to the AI safety triage queue and inform our content-safety tuning per Google's Secure AI Framework (SAIF) and OWASP GenAI Top-10 red-team guidance.
  • By email: abuse@gidai.ca with a description and, if possible, a screenshot or message identifier.
  • Block another user: Open the other user's profile, select "Block". Blocked users cannot send you direct messages, cannot appear in your shared channels, and cannot see your profile.

6.1 Response time and enforcement on UGC reports

We act on reports of objectionable user-generated content within 24 hours of receipt. Action includes:

  • Removing or quarantining the reported content;
  • Where warranted, suspending or permanently ejecting the offending Authorized User from the Service; and
  • Notifying the Customer (the responsible organization) and, where applicable, the reporter of the outcome.

For severe content (CSAM, imminent threat to life, terrorism content), we act as quickly as possible regardless of business hours, and we report to NCMEC or the equivalent authority in addition to taking content and account action. This 24-hour response window applies to validated reports; clearly spurious or duplicate reports may be dismissed faster without prejudice to the reporter.

7. Reporting copyright or trademark infringement

If you believe that content available through the Service infringes your copyright or trademark, please send a notice that includes (i) your contact information, (ii) a description of the work or mark, (iii) the location of the allegedly infringing content (URL or identifier), (iv) a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is unauthorized, (v) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and (vi) your physical or electronic signature, to legal@gidai.ca. We may, in our discretion, remove allegedly infringing content and notify the user who posted it. Counter-notifications can be sent to the same address.

8. Enforcement

If we believe a violation of this AUP has occurred, we may take any of the following actions, depending on the severity, frequency, and impact of the violation:

  • Warn the responsible Customer and require a fix;
  • Suspend the Authorized User account responsible for the violation;
  • Suspend the Customer account in whole or in part;
  • Remove or quarantine offending content;
  • Terminate the Agreement for material breach (Section 14.3 of the Terms);
  • Refer the matter to law enforcement or other authorities where appropriate or required.

We will typically give the Customer notice and an opportunity to remedy a violation before taking termination action, except where (a) the violation is itself illegal (such as CSAM), (b) the violation poses immediate harm to other users or to the Service, or (c) Customer fails to remedy after a previous warning.

9. Cooperation with law enforcement

We cooperate with law enforcement to the extent required by law and consistent with the protections in our Privacy Policy. We require a valid legal process (subpoena, court order, search warrant, or equivalent in the requesting jurisdiction) for the production of Customer Content, except in emergency situations where there is a good-faith belief that an immediate threat to life or limb is involved.

10. Updates to this AUP

We may update this AUP to address new abuse patterns. For material changes, we will give at least 30 days' advance notice by email or in-product notice. The version in force at the time of the violation governs the violation.
